Being an egg donor is in not an easy way to earn a good amount of money   While the compensation for donors is generous, the process involves an extensive medical and mental examination along with the use of medications. The process of donating is a safe and common procedure, however, it does require a mature and devoted individual. It is our hope to find young women who understand the importance of being a donor and how their decision to donate will assist in helping a couple or single individual to become a parent .

Egg donation is used by couples or individuals who
•are unable to conceive or carry a pregnancy to a viable delivery
•are without ovaries due to a medical condition
•have non-functioning ovaries due to premature ovarian failure or cancer treatments
•have infertility due to poor egg quality or age
•have a genetic condition they do not wish to pass on

The intended parent pays for all the donor's related fees, including medical expenses and travel. They also pay the donor's compensation.   Compensation is paid to the donor at the time of retrieval for her time and inconvenience rather than for the eggs.

You may request your compensation. First time donors usually receive between $6000-$7000.  Donors who are located in metropolitan areas can request the higher compensation of $7000, however keep in mind a lower compensation request will most likely result in a faster match.  Donors will not be paid over $10,000 under any circumstance.

The process of donation requires time, responsibility and most of all commitment and dedication. If you are chosen as a Donor, your husband or partner may be required to undergo blood test and you must abstain from relations during the entire process of the donation. Also, please review our donor’s timeline before applying to our services. Becoming a donor can be a wonderful experience, however, you should know exactly what it entails before you embark on this journey.

•Once you are accepted to our services, your profile and photos will be listed on our website as a donor who is available.

•Intended parents will then review our database and select a donor.

•Once selected by intended parents we contact you and inform you the dates the intended parents are requesting.

•If you accept the dates an attorney will draw up contracts between you and the intended parents.

•Once the contracts are signed, you will go to the intended parents clinic where the doctor will perform a medical and sometimes psychological evaluation. The medical test include HIV, other sexually transmitted diseases, Hepatitis B and C, blood count, liver function, blood tying, Rh factor and other test required for a fertility, such as a pap smear and an ultrasound of your uterus. If you have a partner, they will also be required to have blood test performed to rule out any sexually transmitted diseases. The psychological evaluation is done to make sure you are prepared for the emotional duties it requires to become a donor.

•Once you are cleared by the clinic you will then most likely began taking birth control pills when your next period begins. This is done to help the clinic coordinate your cycle with the intended mother’s cycle.

•After the birth control pills, you will begin the first injectable medication called Lupron. The clinic will instruct you on how and where to administer the shots. It is usually given in the thigh and like all the other medications you are responsible for administering the drug to yourself. While some clinics will allow you to come in and have a nurse administer the shot, since it is taken daily, most donors either do it themselves or have a partner administer the shot. This medication is taken for about 10-15 days.

•The next phase of medications are used to stimulate your ovaries to produce multiple eggs. They are called FSH or Follicle Stimulating Hormones. (Please visit our Medication Page for information on the medications used during an egg donation cycle and the potential side effects). They are also administered by way of an injection daily and are given in the buttocks region. and again the clinic will give you detailed instructions and physically teach you how to administer these shots.  You will take these drugs for about 12-15 days, depending on how you respond.

•At this time you will have several appointments with the clinic as they monitor how you are responding to the medications.

•At the end of the 12-15 days you will administer your final injection. HCG is given to trigger your ovaries to prepare the eggs for retrieval.

•The retrieval is perfumed about 35 hours after the HCG shot. It is done at the clinic and you will be given a sedative that puts you to sleep. You will be closely monitored by an anesthesiologist and the doctor who performs the procedure. It will take anywhere from 10 -20 minutes for the retrieval of the eggs. Once removed the eggs are then fertilized with the intended father's sperm.

•Once awakened, you will be able to go home within two hours and you should be able to continue your regular activities within a day.

•You have then completed your obligation to the intended parents.

If you have any complications due to your donation, your Intended Parents have purchased insurance which will cover any and all medical bills you incur as a result of your complications.
